Where do I begin so that I'm not repeating what over reviewers have said before me? A boy, with magical powers and his two friends, a girl and a boy, who fight all the time. Sound familiar? Sorta. I do applaud the author for have a primary character who is disabled! As the mother of a 10 year old son with a disability, it is nice to see these elements brought to the cusp of contemporary reading.

There are many elements of the story that mirror another previous popular series (H.P.). I won't linger on that though...it's been addressed in other reviews. The story does hold it's own though. I did enjoy reading it. Yes, my mind did occasionally wander because of the "mirroring" but I was easily drawn back into the story by its own merit. The BEST and funniest parts of the book are Sam and Hadley <3 these monsters! I hope to see theme in all future books in the series!<br/>
Yes, I am interested to see where the story goes. Yes, I will read the next in the series. The author is aiming to have this completed by October this year (2013).

Although the book is listed as aimed at middle school children, I would recommend it for 3rd-5th.
